First fold-up car, Hiriko, unveiled to beat urban stress in EUA tiny revolutionary fold-up car designed in Spain’s Basque country as the answer to urban stress and pollution was unveiled Tuesday before hitting European cities in 2013.The “Hiriko,” the Basque word for “urban,” is an electric two-seater with no doors whose motor is located in the wheels and which folds up like a child’s collapsible stroller for easy parking. AMAZING! Way to think outside of the shitty paradigm that is the North American car. I don’t want any of them. I want one of these or a Tata Nano or something.

I don’t get it, can you still drive while it’s in the compact version? because if someone comes and parks in the space you’re “saving” by it being compacted, but you need to uncompact it to drive, then you have essentially boxed yourself in. Think about it. You can’t unfold because someone just parked in the little space you saved, and now there is too little room between you and the next car to get out of the spot.

you can still drive it for parking. The wheels even go 90 degrees to get you in extra tight.
I would love to pay 10 bucks, hop into one of these, drive somewhere and leave it in a shared lot just like the shared bike systems they have in Paris and London. Paris already has this with a car too.
